Today marks another anniversary, although this one much sadder than yesterday. On this day 193 years ago, Jane Austen breathed her last and the world was a bit duller for loosing one so great so soon. I highly recommend reading Austenprose’s excellent round up of reflections upon Jane Austen’s death and Cassandra’s (Jane’s beloved sister) letter to her niece informing her of Jane’s death.
I may start a re-read of either Emma or Persuasion (my two favorites) tonight in honor of Austen’s memory. Somehow, watching a film adaptation doesn’t seem fitting.
