The Blah’s

Do you ever get the blah’s? You know, when people and things that normally excite you leave you feeling “meh”? Well, I have The Blah’s. It’s been the kind of day where nothing seems to work out, unexpected expenses are thrown in your face and not even a Texas martini could chase the feeling away. I can’t seem to finish the blog post I started last night, so instead I’d like ask you this: what you do to chase The Blah’s away?

~This is going ’round the blogosophere like wildfire, as it should, because it is so clever! Patricia of A Little Hut shows us how to create a simple and remarkably elegant stationery set from recycled security envelopes.

~Kim (The Girl Can’t Help It) is giving away a vintage breadbox—a pink breadbox. I know, it’s super awesome—I thought you deserved the chance to win it.

Hope your week is treating you well, thus far!

At Long Last!

Mad Men is here!

I am so happy these people are back! I promise there shall be no spoilers for those of you who have not yet watched the season four premiere. I loved this episode so much more than the season three premiere, Out of Town. The only other thing I will say is this: I freaking love Peggy Olson. Oh! Also, Mrs. Francis may be my new favorite character. And that is all I will say about that.

Harry Potter Bunting

Harry Potter Bunting

Sometimes when I get an idea in my head for a project, I spend a lot of time researching, planning and writing out all the particulars in order to execute the project—and that is all that ever becomes of it. Then there are times when I throw together a project without much planning or thinking. Sometimes they turn out and sometimes they don’t—but I’m pretty happy with the results of this silly little project. All it required was a book (extra copy of Deathly Hallows I got at a library sale for fifty cents), a bit of ribbon or some such (I used some bias binding lying in my trim box) and time to cut the pages. I had it all sewn up and hanging on my wall in a few minutes.

That was how I spent my Saturday—how about you?
